Uniview - LPR

LPR (License Plate Recognition) which is also known as ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) is a highly accurate system capable of reading vehicle number plates without human intervention through the use of high-speed image capture. Once the number plate has been captured, the system is then able to detect the characters on the plate and decode this. This is done automatically and instantaneously, leaving you with the footage, image of the vehicle with the plate and the decoded text.

The Uniview LPR camera has controls for whitelisting and blacklisting number plates, which can be to alert when a certain number plate has been detected, or in conjunction with the barrier controls on the camera; for example, if a car pulls up to a barrier, the LPR camera will detect it's number plate and if it is on the whitelist, it can automatically raise the barrier allowing entry to the car. This automation negates the need for someone to manually raise the gate if it is an employee or an expected visitor. With it's Starview chipset and 100m of infrared range, the camera is also able to work at night.
